Learn at Lunch - An Update on the Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline Project and How Local Businesses Can Benefit From it

Tuesday, August 8, 2017 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

Construction of the Atlantic Sunrise gas pipeline project is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2017. With a projected overall economic impact of $1.6 billion in all of the project’s regions, the pipeline will run through portions of Columbia County. Although some local workers will be employed to help build it, there will be several individuals coming into our area from out of town for some or all of the project’s construction, which is scheduled to run for about a year. With that comes opportunities for local businesses to offer their goods and services to our visitors. Join Mike Atchie, manager of public outreach at Williams, as he discusses the ways Williams is encouraging its workers to buy local during this project. He will also give an overview and update on the Atlantic Sunrise project and speak about a mobile app being developed by Williams that local businesses can register to be listed on for free, which will provide local vendor information to out-of-town workers. Cost is $10, which includes lunch. Learn at Lunch events are sponsored by PPL Electric Utilities and this month's event will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 130 W 3rd St., Bloomsburg. Register above or call Phyllis at 570-784-2522.
